Greenbriar Riding Academy Events

Our mission at Greenbriar Riding Academy, Inc. is to provide quality school horses, equipment and programs that will allow students to discover the magical world of horses in a safe, entertaining environment without the need to own their own horses. Weekly riding lessons are offered Monday through Thursday and all day on Saturday year round to students ages six through adult. Our riding instructors have a deep understanding of horse psychology as well an in depth knowledge of the human anatomy and how it interacts with the movement of the horse in motion. They are trained to assist students in developing the skills necessary to effectively communicate with a horse. Regardless of the riding discipline, Greenbriar will instill in their students a solid foundation of riding basics. Our instructors also know that horseback riding enhances such personal skills as responsibility, self-esteem, good judgement, self-reliance and an “I can do it!” attitude.

In addition to the weekly riding lesson program, Greenbriar offers Summer Day Camps from 8am-noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during the months of June, July and August. The Summer Day Camp program is designed to develop in the student the necessary skills to safely ride and/or own a horse. There are six levels in our program. Each level covers subjects within each of the following areas – Riding Skills, Horse Handling Skills, Equipment Knowledge and Horse Health. A certificate is awarded upon completion of each level.

Camps limited to adults only are offered during the spring and fall.

"Please join me, Michelle Havener, and the director of Marion Cares, Laura Campbell, as we voyage into the tenth year of Marion Cares. Marion Cares is a collaborative effort of local churches, businesses, and individuals to make sure families in Marion have what they need as the seasons change. This includes back packs for school, Angel Tree giving, and this summer's Son Seekers program, where students are exercising their brains, hearts, and bodies - all through the help of loving and caring volunteers. I am proud to support this outstanding organization. For more information, visit www.marioncares.org or email laura@marioncares.org"
www.metroyouthfootball.com MYFA was founded in 1971 and has served the Cedar Rapids metro area for over 45 years. This organization is dedicated to youth football. Each year MYFA brings together over 2,500 young people and hundreds of adult volunteers to participate in and learn about both flag and tackle football in a wholesome, safe, structured, and fun environment. MYFA considers competition healthy and instructive but de-emphasizes the importance of winning and instead promotes the importance of participation. MYFA is governed by a board of directors made up of coaches and interested volunteers that insures both the financial and philosophical integrity of the organization.

TCR is among the nation’s top 2% of community theatres, but we can’t do it alone! Charitable giving comprises 50% of Theatre Cedar Rapids’ $2.5 million budget. Financial support by businesses, individuals, and foundations is crucial to making this all possible.

Theatre Cedar Rapids produced six musicals, four plays, a collaborative concert event, a collaborative play for young audiences, and a new play festival. In addition, the Theatre opened its facilities to and/or assisted other non-profit arts organizations offering opera, educational and community theatre, music concerts, and outdoor adult and children’s theatre. Total community attendance and program participation was 69,018, comprised of 53,551 theatre patrons, 8,410 students & volunteers, 3,593 attending community events, and 3,464 participating in events & fundraisers. Of the 8,410 students & volunteers, 5,026 were students participating in a range of programs including theatre classes, camps, corporate training workshops, outreach programs, educational performances, and special population workshops.
